Colorado's Public Schools of Choice
How it Works
State Law:
The Colorado's Public Schools of Choice law, allows parents in El Paso County and across the state to apply for their child to attend a school outside their zoned school.
To participate, parents must apply directly to their preferred district or school, keeping in mind that acceptance depends on classroom capacity and includes a specific application window for each school year.
Colorado's Public Schools of Choice law, in effect since 1994, is the foundation for school choice in the state, according to the Colorado Politics.
